The Tai Chi Chuan World Federation has certified Plymouth’s Tai Chi and Qi Gong with Fang Association as one of the Federation’s official branches, and designated it The Tai Chi Federation USA Massachusetts. Both the World Federation and the Tai Chi and Qi Gong with Fang Association have similar missions—to promote people’s health, vitality, and longevity through the teaching of these ancient arts and nurturing their application to a life-long habit. The Association began in 2007. The World Tai Chi Federation was established during 1980 in Taiwan, Republic of China.
The World Federation has selected our founder, Fang-Chih Lee, as the President and coach of the The Tai Chi Federation USA Massachusetts along with to two of Fang’s students, Sherry Malone and Kathryn Demers. Sherry and Kathryn are also among Fang’s certified instructors. Their careful guidance brings to students who practice regularly the benefits of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. These include improvement in physical strength, balance, flexibility, memory, and peace of mind.
Many of Fang’s students have participated in the World Federation World Cup competitions held in Taipei, Taiwan, winning multiple medals each year. The Federation’s attention to the Association began during the 2014 competition. These events have run every other year (except for the pandemic years). Fang’s students have participated in seven competitions. In 2025 her students won six international gold medals.
